A Shared Home for Parents, Therapists, and the Healing Power of Connection
By Waldo R. Winborn, LPCC, RPT, RST-C/T
There’s a moment that happens in therapy rooms, homes, and classrooms everywhere—a moment when a child is overwhelmed, and the adult nearby isn’t sure what to do.
Sometimes we try to fix it. Sometimes we freeze. Sometimes we bring all our love and still feel helpless.
But sometimes, when we slow down, connect to ourselves, and stay present—we become the steady rhythm a child needs to feel safe.
This website was created to support that moment.
To help parents and therapists alike remember:
You don’t have to do it perfectly. You have to stay connected.
It Started With Sand, Play, and Presence
Over the years, I’ve sat in hundreds of sand trays and therapy rooms; with children, with caregivers, with therapists in training and watched what happens when people feel safe enough to show up.
I’ve also watched the disconnect grow between parents and professionals:
- Parents searching online for answers that don’t speak to the real mess of parenting
- Clinicians overwhelmed with continuing ed that doesn’t reach the heart of the work
- Teachers, social workers, and caregivers trying to manage behavior without a map
This site was born out of the belief that we need more than technique.
We need relationship-based tools grounded in development, attachment, and the neuroscience of co-regulation.
For Parents and Caregivers
We know that parenting can feel lonely. Especially when your child struggles in ways that don’t fit neat categories.
This space is here to offer:
- Gentle, practical guidance that doesn’t shame or oversimplify
- Content that explains what’s happening in your child’s brain and body
- Tools for managing big behaviors while protecting your connection
- Videos, blogs, and future live sessions that say:
“You’re not alone. You’re doing better than you think.”
Whether you’re raising toddlers or teenagers, navigating trauma, or just looking for a new way to connect, this space was made for you.
For Clinicians and Helpers
You hold a lot. Whether you’re a play therapist, school counselor, EMDR clinician, or early childhood consultant, you’re often walking into rooms where regulation, attachment, and safety are missing, and trying to build it from scratch.
This site was created to offer:
- Trainings that are grounded, experiential, and CE-approved
- A community of professionals who value symbolic expression, nonverbal healing, and attachment-based work
- Opportunities for consultation, supervision, and staying connected to your own nervous system
Here, you’ll find learning that doesn’t just add to your to-do list, it brings you back to the meaning behind your work.
A Meeting Point Between Two Worlds
We believe the best outcomes for children come when the adults in their lives parents, teachers, therapists, and caregivers are working from a supportive lens.
That’s why this site isn’t just divided into “parents” and “professionals.” It’s built as a bridge:
- A place where therapists can learn how to coach and support caregivers
- A place where parents can understand the therapeutic process
- A place where regulation starts with us, so we can model it for the children in our care
Why Does This Site Exist?
Because children need adults who can stay steady during storms.
Because parents need support, not shame.
Because therapists need community, not burnout.
Because healing happens in relationship and relationship starts with presence.
Whether you’re here to learn, to find support, or to reconnect with your own purpose…
Welcome. You belong here.
